OWL Strike Team Successfully Presents Senior Design Project, Fall 2025

As part of the OWL Project, the OWL Strike: Autonomous Drone Neutralization senior design team successfully presented their work in the Fall 2025 semester. The team members are Owen Pelonero, Gavin Buce, Danny Tropeano, and Andrew Freeman, shown from left to right in the picture above.

In this project, OWL Strike introduced target drone engagement and neutralization concepts for the first time within the OWL Project framework. The team successfully designed and tested two critical components: the flight pod and the ground control system. They implemented PID based autonomous drone engagement and tracking scenarios. In addition, they investigated three net release based neutralization mechanisms that can be mounted on drones in future iterations.

This project will continue to be developed in upcoming semesters, and additional capabilities will be added as part of the broader OWL Project.

Congratulations again to Owen, Gavin, Danny, and Andrew for their remarkable performance. Wishing them continued success in their future endeavors.
